Pineapple Teriyaki Chicken



Few years ago I remember going with my best friend for lunch to a local pub.


She ordered her favorite – Hawaiian Chicken Burger……. It was just grilled chicken breast brushed with Teriyaki sauce and served with slice of pineapple…….. Nothing special……not super tasty and up to my standards, but…….


….it gave me an idea for Pineapple Teriyaki Chicken and Rice dish.





  • 2-3  Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
  • 1 Onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 cup Mushrooms (sliced & optional)
  • 1/4 cup Teriyaki Sauce
  • 1 can Pineapple Chunks with juice
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Flour
  • Oil

STEP 1: In a large skillet heat the oil. Saute onion till golden brown. Cut up washed and dried chicken breasts into small strips and lightly dust with flour.

STEP 2: Add the chicken to the skillet and saute until brown. Salt and pepper. Add 2-3 tablespoons of Pineapple juice and let it reduce.

STEP 3: Add Teriyaki sauce and saute until the chicken is almost done.

STEP 4: Just before the end add pineapple chunks and mushrooms. Saute for few more minutes till everything is heated thoroughly. Add the remaining pineapple juice if you like.
