Sirloin Steak & Vegetable Skewers

 

 

I have to admit…..last few months due to everything that’s been going my children got used to Take-Out….Pizza…..and Eating Out.
 

I was not happy about it…..there were times I felt guilty, but sometimes you have no choice….
 

….so as soon as I was starting to feel like myself again first order of business was…..HOME COOKING….as much as possible.
 

Luckily, warmer weather arrived at the same time and our meals changed from heavy comfort food to grilled meats and vegetable…..Grilling season officially started!

 

 

 

 

First dish of our Grilling Season were…..delicious…..juicy……full of FLAVOR……SIRLOIN STEAK & VEGETABLES SKEWERS….
 

I marinades chunks of Sirloin Steak for few hours and the result…..mouthwatering and tender BEEF…..and what child doesn’t love food on a stick, right?
 

PRINTABLE VERSION
 

Ingredients:

  • 1 – 1 1/2 lb Sirloin Steak (cubed)
  • 1 Zucchini
  • 1 Large Sweet Onion
  • 1/2 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/3 cup Ketchup
  • 1/3 cup Soy Sauce or Sodium Reduced Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 3-4 Cloves Garlic (crushed)
  • 1/4 cup Red Wine
  • Fresh Thyme

 STEP 1: In a bowl mix together olive oil, ketchup, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic and red wine to make marinade.

STEP 2: Marinate cubes of Sirloin steak for 2 hours in the fridge.

STEP 3: Meanwhile slice zucchini and onions into chunks and toss them with olive oil and  sea salt in a bowl.

STEP 4: Heat grill or BBQ to high.

STEP 5: Thread steak, onion and zucchini pieces onto metal or wooden skewers.

STEP 6: Grill on each side for 3-4 minutes (medium rare to medium). Few minuted before skewers are done place springs of fresh thyme on each.

STEP 7: Allow skewers to rest 5 minutes before serving.

 

 

 

 

TIP: If you are using wooden skewers done forget to soak them in a water for 30 minutes before using to avoid them catching on fire.
