Stuffed Crescent Rolls

 

I love the way my kids think…..never a dull moment in my house….just like any house with children, right?
 
….right now there is a Patchy the Pirate occupying the body of my sweet Twitch…..
 
….and this is the story….
 

 
Yesterday I took Twitch to his weekly trauma counseling….everything was going well….till…..
 
the counselor asked Twitch what he think is the reason for his random & often SAD mood swings….of course Twitch being 9 years old and not wanting to talk & share much since his accident I knew he’s just beating a dead horse….
 

……after while the counselor realized that & came up with idea…..idea to try a “really different” type of treatment to control & minimize his sad feelings…

 

….in this treatment Twitch was suppose to cover his right eye for few seconds every time he started feeling sad…lonely…angry or frustrated…..
 
…..doing that something will happen in his left brain and it will calm him down….
 
We tried it right there and I was IMPRESSED….covering left eye made Twitch uncomfortable….fidgety….tearing up…..
 
Covering right eye calmed him right up…..it was amazing…..

 

 

….so make long story short Twitch received a black EYE PATCH to control his emotion….
 
Now here we have 9 year old boy who was given permission to wear eye patch and it was also suggested that he can talk like a pirate while wearing it…..thank you counselor K …..what do you think he’s is wearing to school this morning?
 

Yep…..big old black eye patch….
 

Well, at least he’ll still eat my cooking…..and this pirate’s favorite rolls are my STUFFED CRESCENT ROLLS….so I suggest you try to make some or he will make you walk the plank….

 

 

…..ready to get your hands dirty and impress your family with these super-easy-to-make STUFFED CRESCENT ROLLS….I guarantee…..they will be a hit.
 

PRINTABLE VERSION:
 
Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs Flour
  • 1 1/4 cup Oil
  • 4 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 Eggs (beaten)
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 50g Fresh Yeast
  • 200g Ham or Salami
  • 200g Hard Cheese
  • Spicy Deli Mustard
  • 2 Tbsp Butter (melted)
  • 1 Egg
  • Caraway Seed

STEP 1: Pour 1/2 cup of lukewarm milk into a bowl. Mix in sugar and crumble yeast. Let it rise for 10 minutes.

STEP 2: In a large bowl whisk together flour, salt and baking powder. Make a well in the middle and pour in oil, rest of the milk, beaten egg and yeast. Mix until you get smooth dough.

STEP 3: Divide dough in 6 equal parts and make into balls. Place them onto cooking sheet. Cover and let them raise for 30-45 minutes.

STEP 4: On floured surface roll out each dough ball into circle about 1/4″ thick. Cut each circle into 8 triangles.

STEP 5: Spread little bit of mustard into middle of each triangle. Place piece of thin ham and top with thin slice of hard cheese (I use Edam).

STEP 6: Roll each triangle into crescent roll. Place them onto cookie sheet about 2″ apart.

STEP 7: Let crescent rolls rise covered for 10-15 minutes.

STEP 8: Preheat oven to 350F. In a small bowl mix together melted butter and egg until smooth.

STEP 9: When ready to bake brush rolls with butter & egg mixture and sprinkle with Caraway seed.

STEP 10: Bake for 22-25 minutes or until golden brown.
