Good morning! How is everyone feeling this morning?
Are you ready for Halloween? How about some Halloween Caramel Apples…..
I personally am not ready…….It’s 5:30 am and I am trying to wake up……the yawns keep coming…..almost felt asleep during my meditation…..
….yep, my life is catching up with me….
Yesterday, I have every intention to work hard….write some posts….return comments….chat with you…..
…the minute boys left for school I was ready to snuggle under the blanket with my puppy and catch up with some rest & PVR.
Yes, I felt guilty for few minutes….then I realized….I need a break….I need to recharge cause exhausted I am not good to anybody.
I am sure many of you go through the same thing….and you need to recharge….unplug….take it easy…..
It’s OK….just do it…..pick a day….unplug….NO GUILT…..
….just you…..blanket…..sofa…..good book…..cup of tea…..take-out for dinner….
Give yourself a permission to play hookey once in awhile…..you are not doing it just for yourself…..you are doing it for people you love and care for….
….they deserve to have you feeling your best!
…..and after you had your rest……you can whip up few of these Spiderweb Caramel Apples perfect for Halloween rick or treaters.
- 8 Granny Smith Apples (small)
- 8 Caramel Apple Dowels or twigs (I used twigs from apple tree)
- 75 Kraft Caramels (unwrapped)
- 2 Tbsp Water
- 1,5 cup Chocolate Candy Melts
- Decorations of choice
STEP 1: Remove stems from apples and insert dowels or twigs. Line baking sheet with wax paper and spray with cooking spray.
STEP 2: In a large saucepan on medium heat melt caramels with 3 tablespoons of water. Stirring occasionally.
STEP 3: Make sure caramels are completely melted and smooth before dipping apples into the caramel
STEP 4: After dipping the apples with the help of spoon coat the sides. Place on the baking sheet and let the excess caramel drip off
STEP 5: Chill apples for 20 minutes and trim excess caramel with kitchen shears.
STEP 6: Melt chocolate candy melts according to directions. Dip base of caramel apples in chocolate and cover with sprinkles of your choice. Place on baking sheet and chill again.
STEP 7: Put the leftover of chocolate into piping bag with tip #2. Pipe lines from top of caramel apple to the chocolate base. Pipe curved lines in between to form web patterns
So…..give yourself the permission to rest….relax….unplug and recharge…..
….the world won’t stop if you take a day off….the work will be there tomorrow and you will be more productive….
…..and then of course….make some Halloween Caramel Apples….cause they are fun….yummy….and pretty cool, don’t you think?
