Hello, my dear friends!
How is your week going so far?
I am in the middle of busy week and I don’t think it will get any better for next month or so …… such is life …. better busy & happy then bored & miserable, right?
….. the other night I was thinking that it’s been a long time since I wrote about my restaurant experience …. no I didn’t stop going …. no worries ….. I just have been so backed up with all different projects like my vlog series …. recipe rounds up and all that great foodie stuff.
Two months ago I surprised my sister with birthday dinner at Terrafina Restaurant @ Hester Creek Winery. It is one of our local winery restaurant.
Few years ago Hester Creek Winery turned their tasting room into Tuscan Style rustic restaurant with old charm decor and gorgeous patio overlooking the rolling vineyards.
From the first moment you arrive to Terrafina you will be impressed and comfortable.
Dining room is very warm and inviting ….. service wonderful …. meal memorable …..
Between 4 of us we ordered few appetizers and main entree for each of us.
I was little disappointed with the fact that “rustic Tuscan” restaurant is not greeting their guests with fresh artisan bread or fresh Focaccia as most old charm Italian restaurants do.
You can order basket of Focaccia with spreads for $11.50 ….. honestly I don’t need selection of spreads. I love to nibble on my focaccia dipped in well aged Balsamic vinegar and Olive oil while enjoying glass of wine and waiting for my entree.
Needless to say, we were not impressed with Terrafina’s Focaccia appetizer.
However, my sister ordered Scallops and Pancetta ($16.75) - seared diver scallops, fennel cream pea puree and I almost ate all of it ….. scallops seared to perfect with crunchy pancetta and little bit of fennel cream pea puree was like heaven in your mouth.
I went for Broken Caesar Salad ($15.75) which is hearts of romaine with peppered maple bacon dressed with roasted garlic caper vinaigrette, poached egg & shaved pecorino. It sounded interesting …. it looked unique ….. and once I figured out how to eat it to get all the flavors to play together it was amazing.
For main entree I ordered Steak with Seasonal Veggies & Potatoes ….. I have to admit ….. it was the best steak I had in a long time …. done to perfection (medium) ….. seasoned perfectly …. veggies were full of flavor …. crispy and well complimented the meat.
Another entree was Grilled Trout ….. according to my friend Natalia it was delicious and done to perfection as well.
We did enjoy our dinner at Terrafina Restaurant @ Hester Creek Winery. I do recommend Terrafina to foodies looking for a great flavor which comes with it’s price tag and to wine lovers.
It is not a place for casual dinner or a family meal. Terrafina’s dinner entrees are from $20 – $42 per person
Terrafina is also open for lunch and the prices are from $13.00 – $20.00 per meal so if you don’t have a big eating out budget , but still would like to enjoy great meal in a wonderful surroundings I would suggest you try your Terrafina dining experience during lunch.
I also think it is worth the experience to enjoy dinner at Terrafina restaurant ….
Terrafina restaurant is located on Road#8 in Oliver, British Columbia …. also known as Canada’s Wine Capital
Don’t forget …. Keep Smiling …. Keep Cooking!
