“Life without love is like a tree without blossoms or fruit.”

Khalil Gibran

Hello, my sweet friends!

I am finally back after week long battle with the flu that is everywhere around me ……

…. I am back just in time for 14 Days of VALENTINE’S Day ……. something I came up with while laying in bed last 7 days.

…. 14 day of Valentine’s Day recipes …… ideas …… love quotes ….. and everything that has to do with LOVE!

I will start DAY 1 with simple & easy yet adorable HEART SHAPED CHOCOLATE COOKIES.

Heart Shaped Chocolate Cookies

This is just a basic cut-out cookie recipe, but you can turn it into anything you like ….. heart shaped cookie sandwiches ….. decorated chocolate cookies with icing or frosting ….. dipped in chocolate cookies ….. heart shaped cookies on the stick ….. the choice is yours.

This recipe makes 50-60 Heart Shaped Chocolate Cookies.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup Butter (unsalted, softened)
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 Tbsp Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 3 cups Flour
  • 4 Tbsp Cocoa Powder (unsweetened)

STEP 1: Preheat oven to 350F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.

STEP 2: Using kitchen mixer beat together sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add eggs, vanilla and milk while scraping sides after every addition. Beat until blended together.

STEP 3: In a bowl sift together flour and cocoa powder. Gradually on low speed blend it into the mixture until you can.

STEP 4: Using your hand blend the rest of the flour mixture to form soft dough.

STEP 5: Roll out the chocolate cookie dough on lightly floured surface to 1/4″ thickness. Using 2-3″ heart shape cookie cutter cut out as many cookies as you can before re-rolling the dough.

STEP 6: Place cookie onto cookie sheet with 2″ spaces between them. Bake for 10-12 minutes.

STEP 7: Allow the cookies to cool on the sheet for 1 minute before removing them onto cooling rack.

STEP 8: Once the chocolate cookies are completely cool decorate them with icing.

thanks for the idea – it is almost that time of year. This is different than most Vday ones – since most use plain sugar cookies and frosting.
