20 Top Wineries in Oliver the Wine Capital of Canada

“Wine is one of the most civilized things in the world and one of the most natural things of the world that has been brought to the greatest perfection, and it offers a greater range for enjoyment and appreciation than, possibly, any other purely sensory thing.”

20 Top Wineries of Oliver

Good morning, culinary lovers!

As some of you might know I live in the middle of vineyards in a small town called Oliver nestled in the Okanagan Valley of beautiful British Columbia.

Oliver might be a small town with population of 5,000 (in the off season) give or take, but we sure like our wine & we are mighty good in making it as well hence the name we are proud of ….. WINE CAPITAL OF CANADA.

Not only we know how to grow grapes & produce award winning wines …. we also have close to 30 wineries to keep us well hydrated & happy all year round.

I decided to share with you TOP 20 of my favorite Wineries located only skip & a jump from my house … yes, I do realize how lucky I am.

These sound wonderful, I live in Palm Springs so we have a few near Temecula and of course many near Napa Valley. I have only been to a few. Mostly because my husband doesn’t drink, so it would be very ackward. Lol. British Columbia sounds fantastic.

Great list and didn’t realize that Canada has so many. Here in Virginia, USA we have a good many too. Thought the weather we have would affect them, but guess they’ve been able to adapt. My husband and I have visited a few.

  17. I live in Virginia and we have few newrby.. . We went in the fall near Thanksgiving, so it was incredibly slow (read: we were the only two there at noon). The wines weren’t exactly my palate, and my husband felt the same – the ones we were offered were nothing special, and not something I would pay $20+ per bottle for – I’ve found better wines that are $10-15 per bottle in the store. The ambiance is nice. We weren’t thrilled with our wine taste guy. Didn’t really talk much or seem interested in discussing the wine with us. Felt odd since we were the only ones there – I could see this happening if they were really busy. We didn’t purchase anything. Also, the tasting list is VERY limited.

  18. Never been in BC! But I’d love to visit these places when I visit :-) Thanks for the information ;-)

  19. You are so lucky to have that many options nearby. We have vineyards in my state, but none of them are nearly that close!

  24. I’ve totally been to a bunch of these wineries! My favourite was Silver Sage. Have you tried “The Flame”? If not – you HAVE to! It’s my favourite. I’ve had it shipped to Ontario because it’s that good. I just spent last weekend at the Niagara Icewine Festival. You’ve got to come and check it out – every January.
