Top of the morning to you, dear food lovers!
Second post this week …. isn’t it exciting? I told you I will try harder this year.
Going back to the last year … or better yet, last night of 2013
…. I wanted to end the year with my favorite dish from my favorite Italian restaurant CAMPO MARINA
…. well, boo-hoo for me ….. they decided to close till February …… February!!!!!!!
All dressed up (sort of speak) & nowhere to go my hubby …. my bestie …. her hubby & myself decided to have dinner & drinks in one of “better” restaurants in our town called The Firehall Bistro.
BIG MISTAKE!!!! Well, it wouldn’t be a mistake if we just stuck with drinks & appies ….
Long story short …. we all knew that The Firehall Bistro makes great drinks …. awesome burgers & excellent pub style appies
however, their “fancy” dinner fare is ….. well, ….. I keep trying & trying & they keep disappointing me kind of thing….
This was true even more then usual on the New Years Eve ….. & lets leave it at that …. lesson
Anyway, I entered 2014 with bad dinner experience craving delicious Italian fare …. Gnocchi in Creamy Sauce.
…. and then my wonderful Hormone Boy decided to make GNOCCHI for his sad mama …. yes, my 16 year old can make ABRUZZO STYLE POTATO GNOCCHI like nobody’s business ….. must be the Italian blood & my hubby’s Nona’s recipe.
Of course, I had to supply the sauce ….. creamy ALFREDO SAUCE with MUSHROOMS & PEAS with just the perfect amount of white wine sauce.
Now, don’t tell anybody, but …… I decided to share with you our family recipe for ABRUZZO STYLE POTATO GNOCCHI just like Nona used to make ….
I love my GNOCCHI with creamy ALFREDO SAUCE with MUSHROOMS & PEAS …..
…. my Italian blood men like it with TOMATO or MEAT SAUCE ….
